The Abhimani Women’s Collective and SWASA conducted a series of focus group discussions female and trans sex workers from Colombo and Gampaha to explore their social, legal, economic, and sexual and reproductive health challenges. Hosted at the Trans Equality Trust, these sessions created a safe space for participants to share experiences of stigma, economic insecurity, limited healthcare access, and the added hardships caused by COVID-19. The findings highlight the pressing need for better health services, legal support, financial resources, and stronger advocacy to ensure the rights, safety, and wellbeing of sex workers in Sri Lanka.
